SHIVAAY- A Movie We Needed But Never Deserved

Why there was such a need for this movie?

By going with simple definition, Bollywood is only known for a simple genre- Romance, in all over the world. And yes, we have outrun Hollywood too in the case of viewership. But sorry, not in the case of quality. When they were making Deadpool, we were busy with Sanam Re and when they had a giant- budgeted Batman Vs Superman, well we were trying to figure out Arjun Kapoor's bizzare acting skills in Ki and Ka (Ye kab aayi!!! Exactly). When I first watched the trailer of Shivaay, I was trying to recall some action movies and names flashed like Fury, Mad Max; Fury Road and John Wick and yes, some Rajnikanth flicks too where he burns the cracker and sends it to space (Phew!!).
Not a Single Bollywood Movie, I tried to concentrate more and thinking I might be missing some names. But every time, like my number of relationships, the result was ZERO. Looks like we never had time to make some good action flicks. Either SRK was busy in spreading arms and Salman Khan busy in hunting, playing road rash and putting dark circles under Aishwarya's eyes, no one took it to notice. From the last century, we are busy in making Raj and Simran fall in love and eventually, who cares about the ending anymore once the couple has united.
It is a positive factor to have such a fan following and seeing foreigners trying to pronounce Shah Rukh's name with accent makes us all happy. In case of Romance, we are this way ahead that they have to copy Jab We Met, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya and many more. But what about other genres?
And if we talk about horror, that Conjuring Girl will treat the Bhatt's accordingly for what they have made out of this genre.

Shivaa with a Y, Why?

Don't let the title fool you, this film has nothing to do with Pahalaj Nihalani or RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat or any other Hindu Party Wing. Apart from Erica Kaar and Sayyeshaa Saigal, this film has Ajay Devgn in the lead role and also as Karta-Dharta of the project. With a cinematography like this and some great action sequences and also Badshah's Rap, this film is a better treat than the same repeated Cadbury Celebrations on this Diwali.

Aamir Khan once in an interview said that we can't make movies like Inception because directors here, don't want to do experiments. They are just adding a few pieces of cherry to the already baked pie again and again.

While Shivaay not able to cross 100 Cr mark till the 7th day from release is the signal that something is seriously wrong with the audience who heads to the first day, first show of a disaster such as Kick and Sultaan and neglects such great efforts. Moral of the story in simple words is "Suno Sab Ki, Karo Khud Ki". Go Watch for yourself and find out.
