Few Lessons I learnt from College

Title of this post makes it way more obvious than Why Katappa Killed Bahubali that what's it about. This journey from 03rd August, 2015 to 28th May, 2018 was no less than a typical Bollywood Masala. From conflicts, controversies to college-shaming and loads of laughter, this voyage had it all. Without taking much of your time, I'll interrupt my sob story and continue with the theme of this blog. So, here are the following things I learned in college (start of a 14 marks answer):

1. Time is the biggest teacher. Either you learn to flow with it, or stand still to see the world change its shape. It has the power to turn strangers into friends and vice versa. Time will show who's worth it and who/what is not. In the end, you'll regret wasting it on things that never deserved it.

2. F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Don't make the mistake of watching 'Dil Chahta Hai' in first year of your college, save it for the last (and yes, that goa trip isn't going to happen). Reality of college life is parallel to what typical Bollywood captures (and fails). You won't find n number of Lamborgini's lined up in front of your college but in it, you'll find the most important asset - Friends. Friends are just random people who look like you and me but they don't seem muggles to me. If you have the right ones who share the common objective, then congratulations my friend, how of your troubles are over. These wizards can make you laugh when that inner anxiety of yours is all set to go "Full Metal Jacket'. These bunch of hooligans will help you to become the better version of yourself. Like a normal human, I am also liable to make mistakes and have made some. But have always found a group of weirdos in my corner to correct me and make me realize my mistakes. So, choose your friends wisely and your best friends very wisely.

3. Love. How can one stay away from this son-of-a-bitch and that too after watching hours of cliched Bollywood. But I'll refer to an answer from Quora to draw a thin line between love and attraction and how the former one is mistaken for the latter one.

That most people fall in love with the idea of love, not the other person.

This is what happens in most of the cases. We mistake our crush or attraction for the divine feeling and end up losing our very own self-respect. So, remember it's better to stay single than getting into a wrong relationship and feel miserable. After all, there is a term called 'Individualism'.

4. Productivity. Been hearing this word from first year and still haven't been able to get rid of this Satan. So, what really is productivity? It is taking your time and investing in stuff which is going to pay heavy returns in future. It can be anything from reading a book a day to blankly staring at the wings of the fan (if that's what you really want to do). Take small segments of your daily time and learn something, create value out of it and see it do wonders.

5. Depression, Anxiety, Stress are not limited to just rich kids. Anyone and everyone is prone to it. Find people who are really comfortable in you opening up your heart to them and witness how that invisible burden gets off your chest.

One short note before ending this 4-page answer, You'll have all the things you aspire now in future, you'll have a partner, you'll get to wear all those brands you consider cool, you'll get to go to exotic places, you'll get to take your taste buds on a roller-coaster ride. But unfortunately, you won't have the satisfaction that this broke college life offers and words like happiness, pleasure simply can't deliver justice to this experience. Take my word as I have seen the best part of my life come to an end.

I've written 5 points, atleast I'll get 10 marks and that's more than enough :P
